I purchased a 2016 Dodge Ram online from Whips. This was a new experience for me especially since I live in Georgia and Whips is in Texas. I spoke with Omar on the phone several times and exchanged many, many texts with Omar walking me through the process. He NEVER pressured me to purchase the vehicle and was patient with me. This was a two week process from getting a check from NFCU, FedEx it to Whips, waiting a week for the check to clear, and paying for inter-state transport via payment apps! My nerves were a little stressed, but when the truck arrived, it was wonderful. Even the transport driver was amazing. I would definitely purchase another vehicle from Whips.

Omar was the best car salesman I’ve ever met, not too pushy which I really appreciate, Colby in finance worked with me and got me to where I want to be. Overall a solid team at whips, I will be coming back for repeat business and telling my family/friends. If you’re on the market for a used car please go see them. Drove an hour to meet with them and check out their lot. You won’t regret it !

Buyer Beware!! Regret buying from Whips! Sold me a car they said was serviced and 5 days off the lot engine light came on. Had to use my warranty to fix this car. Whips lies. Had a $900 charge they said was for maintenance they did. Nope!! 15 days later they said it was for spray painted rims, STOP!!! Do not make the same mistake!! I promise you don’t want to deal with them after the fact. Horrific Customer Service. Trust your gut on this one. Wish I was warned.

I purchased a 2015 Mercedes S550 from Whips in Carrollton, Texas, for $28,000. Unfortunately, within just five months, the car required a $12,000 repair due to a major issue with the wiring harness. The issue stemmed from oil wicking from the camshaft sensors—something that should have been caught before sale.

I fully understand the risks of buying a used vehicle, but spending nearly half the purchase price on a repair this soon is unacceptable, especially when there were visible red flags before the sale.

Before completing the purchase, we visited the dealership to test drive the car. While it drove well, we noticed oil leaking from the left side of the engine and the sunroof was not operational. The dealership dismissed the oil leak, claiming it was due to a recent oil change, and assured us the sunroof would be repaired before shipping the vehicle in two days. This gave us initial doubts about their transparency.

Clearly the dealership intended to ship the car with unresolved issues. When the wiring harness failed months later, I contacted the dealership to inform them of the $12,000 repair. I spoke with Colby Borges, the finance manager, who responded with disinterest and asked, “What do you want me to do?” He promised to speak with management but never followed up and has since avoided all calls.

This experience has left me with serious concerns about Whips’ business practices. I have reported them to the State of Texas and the Better Business Bureau. I would strongly advise others to think twice before doing business with Whips in Carrollton, Texas. In my experience, they were dishonest, unresponsive, and unwilling to stand behind the vehicles they sold.
